About these terms
RestroDOS is a software platform for restaurants, operated by RestroDOS ("we", "us"). It provides online ordering, pickup, dine-in QR ordering, delivery tracking, reservations, point of sale, kitchen tickets, inventory, staff and payroll tools, and a public directory of restaurants.
These terms apply to everyone who uses RestroDOS:
- Customers: people who browse restaurants, book tables, order or pay.
- Restaurants: businesses that subscribe to a plan, and the owners who sign up for them.
- Staff: managers, waiters, kitchen staff and riders whom a restaurant invites.
By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use RestroDOS for a business, you confirm that you can accept these terms on its behalf.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old, or use the platform with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.
- Give accurate details, and keep your email address and mobile number up to date. We use them for sign-in, one-time passwords (OTPs) and order updates.
- Keep your password and OTPs private. You are responsible for what happens under your account until you tell us it has been misused.
- One account works across every restaurant on RestroDOS. A restaurant decides which staff can access its workspace and what each role can do.
Ordering food
Your order is with the restaurant, not with us. Each restaurant sets its own menu, prices, taxes, charges, preparation times, delivery areas and opening hours. It prepares the food, hands it over or delivers it, and is responsible for its quality, safety, allergen information and legal compliance. RestroDOS provides the software that carries your order.
- Prices. The total is calculated by the platform from the restaurant's current menu, offers and charges when you place the order. The amount shown at checkout is what you pay.
- Payments. Online payments go directly to the restaurant's own payment gateway account. We do not hold your money. Cash, UPI and card payments at the counter or table are settled with the restaurant.
- Cancellations and refunds. These follow the restaurant's policy. A restaurant may reject or cancel an order, for example when an item is unavailable. If you paid online for an order that is rejected or cancelled, the refund goes back to your original payment method through the restaurant's gateway. The time it takes to reach you depends on your bank or payment provider.
- Pickup and delivery codes. Keep your pickup or delivery code to yourself and share it only when you collect or receive your order.
- Allergies. If you have an allergy or dietary need, check with the restaurant before ordering. Menu descriptions come from the restaurant.
- Reservations. A booking is a request to the restaurant. The restaurant confirms, changes or cancels it and may release your table if you are late.
- Reviews. You can review a restaurant or dish after a completed order. Reviews must be honest, about your own experience, and free of abuse, personal data or advertising. We or the restaurant may hide reviews that break these rules.
If something goes wrong with an order, contact the restaurant first. If it is not resolved, you can write to us at hello@foodplatform.test and we will help where we can.
Using the platform as a restaurant
When you subscribe, we give you access to the features included in your plan. You are responsible for your business and for how you use the platform. In particular:
- You are the seller. You are the merchant for every order and payment, and you are responsible for your menu, prices, taxes (including GST), invoices, food safety, FSSAI and other licences, deliveries, customer service and refunds.
- Your payment gateway. You connect your own payment gateway account. Payments go straight to it, and the gateway's own terms and fees apply. You keep your gateway credentials up to date. We store them encrypted and use them only to process your payments and refunds.
- No commission. We do not take a commission or a per-order fee on your sales. You pay only for your plan.
- Your staff. You decide who gets access and with which permissions, and you remove access when someone leaves. You are responsible for your staff's actions in your workspace.
- Staff and payroll data. Attendance, leave and payroll figures are tools to help you. You are responsible for checking them and for meeting labour, wage, tax and statutory obligations.
- Customer data. You may use your customers' details only to serve their orders and bookings, and for other purposes they have agreed to. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle this data for you.
- Directory listing. If your restaurant is listed, we show its name, logo, cover image, cuisines, location, ratings and storefront link in the public directory. You can turn the listing off in your restaurant profile.
- Equipment. You provide and maintain your own devices, internet connection and printers.
Plans, billing and trials
- Plans, prices and the features in each plan are shown on our pricing section or agreed with you in writing. Prices exclude applicable taxes unless stated.
- Recurring plans are billed in advance for each billing period and renew until cancelled. One-time plans cover the term stated with the plan, for example three years, and end when that term ends unless renewed.
- Some plans start with a free trial. Features stop at the end of the trial unless a paid plan begins.
- If payment is overdue, we may limit features or suspend the workspace after giving you notice. Your data is not deleted because of a late payment.
- You can upgrade or downgrade. A downgrade removes features that are not in the new plan, such as extra branches beyond its limit.
- Fees already paid are not refundable, except where the law requires it or we agree otherwise in writing.
- We may change plan prices. We will tell you at least 30 days before a change applies to you, and it will take effect from your next billing period.
Acceptable use
Do not use RestroDOS to:
- break any law, or sell food or other items that you are not licensed to sell;
- place fake orders or bookings, misuse coupons, or post fake reviews;
- access another restaurant's or user's data, or try to get around permissions, rate limits or security controls;
- scrape, copy or resell the platform or its data, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows;
- upload malware, or content that is unlawful, misleading, abusive or infringes someone else's rights;
- send spam or unsolicited messages to customers.
Content and ownership
- We own the RestroDOS software, design and brand. Your plan gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it for your business while your subscription is active.
- You keep ownership of your content: menus, photos, logos, descriptions and your business data. You allow us to host, copy, display and process it as needed to run the platform for you, including showing your listing and storefront to the public.
- When you post a review, you allow us and the restaurant to display it on the platform.
- If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.
Availability and changes
We work to keep RestroDOS available and secure, but we do not promise that it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may carry out maintenance, and we may add, change or remove features. If we remove a feature that is a main part of your paid plan, we will tell you in advance and, where appropriate, offer an alternative or a pro-rated refund.
Some features rely on third parties, such as payment gateways, SMS and email providers, and maps. Their availability is outside our control.
Suspension and closing an account
- You can stop using RestroDOS at any time. Restaurants can cancel their plan by writing to us; it stays active until the end of the period already paid for.
- We may suspend or close an account, or remove a restaurant from the directory, if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, if payment remains overdue after notice, or if we must do so by law. Where possible we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
- Before you leave, you can export your reports as CSV. For help with other data, contact us within 30 days of closing your workspace.
- We keep order and payment records for as long as the law requires, even after an account is closed.
Disclaimers and liability
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows:
- we are not responsible for food, drink, service, deliveries or anything else a restaurant provides, or for a restaurant's acts or omissions;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost revenue or lost data;
- our total liability to a restaurant for any claim is limited to the fees it paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Restaurants agree to compensate us for claims made by their customers, staff or authorities that arise from their business, their food or their breach of these terms.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or any other law that cannot be excluded.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first so that we can try to resolve any dispute informally. If that does not work, the courts at the place of our registered office have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to your rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If a change is significant, we will tell restaurants by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using RestroDOS after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
